East Gate Kids is committed to providing a developmentally appropriate, and stimulating

learning environment for a diverse population of young children and youth while maintaining the

highest standards of excellence in the areas of childcare, education, personnel and facilities

utilizing input from families and community members.

East Gate Kids admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin

to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to

students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic

origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship,

loan programs, athletic and other school administered programs.

East Gate Kids is a Reggio Emilia Inspired Program. We have a strong image of children and believe that children are capable and curious individuals. It is the goal of the educators to foster and scaffold hands on experiences that highlight the interests of children and develop a curriculum that will support their ideas and experiences through social experiences and the use of natural materials and loose parts.

The purpose of play is to intrigue and invite children to interact with each other, with the materials, and with the environment. The nature of play allows children to develop at their own pace in well-organized environment. The outcome of play supports social skills, fine and gross motor skills, intellectual development and language development of children.

  • East Gate Kids (EGK) believes that children are capable and competent citizens of our community. We value their diversity and cultural beliefs and celebrate their accomplishments and milestones.

We believe children learn through exploring their environment and hands on experiences. As role models to children of a very young age, we believe in leading by example with integrity and moral values. Our diverse staff provide a caring and nurturing environment that focuses on each child’s well-being and development.

  • We believe each child is unique, with his or her own distinct personality, background, and

learning style, and we strive to be responsive to those individual differences.

At EGK you can be confident that you child will receive a quality education and best care possible.

  • East Gate Kids was formerly known as Kids Alive Learning and Development Center located at 1015 Chelwood Park Blvd. N.E.  In 1995, Kids Alive was birthed by the Senior Pastor to serve the community and the Church by providing quality and affordable daycare services for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.

In March of 2000, Kids alive moved from their facility located on Chelwood Park Blvd. to the new facility we are currently in now.  Not only did we move into a bigger and nicer facility, we also added service for 6th graders and changed our name to East Gate Kids to coincide with the change of the church name from Chelwood Park Church to East Gate Church.

Safety is Paramount

When it comes to the safety of your child, there’s no such thing as being too careful. That’s why EGK childcare employs ProCare™ software. This proprietary technology allows our staff instant access to your child’s medical information, arrival and departure times, and the names of people authorized for drop off and pick up. To ensure your child’s safety, it is our strict policy that only authorized personnel are admitted into our secure building. In addition to security, we believe children learn better when they feel safe in a comfortable environment.

We are Reggio Emilia Approach

children are allowed to express themselves in different ways as they develop their

personality. Activities such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and drama are encouraged,

as these are all seen as “languages” children use. By allowing children to engage

in meaningful learning experiences, the Reggio Emilia approach

helps to instill a love of learning, enhances early education, and

prepares children for the transition into school.

For a better tomorrow, we play today!
